Artequeso’s Manchego Añejo is made with sheep’s milk, and aged for two years, resulting in a hard but creamy cheese filled with rich flavor

PAIRS PERFECTLY WITH

The Artequeso Manchego Añejo is a pasteurized cheese made in the La Mancha region of Spain with milk from Manchega sheep. This cheese has been aged for a period of two years. Manchego is distinguished for its thick, sweet, and scented ewe’s milk. The depth of flavor varies depending on the cheese’s age, but all Manchego has an identifiable richness reminiscent of Brazil nuts and caramel, as well as the unique aroma of lanolin and roast lamb, and a slightly salty aftertaste. This hard Spanish cheese has a dark golden-brown rind, and a dry, creamy texture with tiny air pockets that are typically irregularly distributed. This rich, dense, complex cheese is Spain’s finest, aged to perfection. It’s still creamy, with a refined yet potent depth of flavor.

The World Cheese Awards awarded this well-crafted cheese the Gold Medal in 2013. Artequeso’s Manchego Añejo Two Years is the result of traditional artisanal craftsmanship. While wonderful on its own, it also goes great with honey or marmalade, paired with some sundried tomatoes, figs, and olives. It’s great to enjoy with Sherry, Stout Beer, or robust red wine from Spain.

Storage Instructions

Cheeses (except brined ones in jars) should be stored in the crisper or the butter drawer of a refrigerator, not on the shelves themselves. This is to help regulate their temperature and humidity levels—and prevents the formation of mold. Once opened, they should not be kept in their original packaging. Soft cheeses with delicate rinds need to breathe, so they are best placed in glass containers lined with paper towels to absorb extra moisture. Leave the lid open a tiny bit for air to circulate and don’t forget to write up a label with the date you first opened the package. Kindly pay attention to the best before date label when you receive your cheese. Consume prior to date indicated.
