This rather delicious wine from Gigi Rosso is not as well known as the other wines from this prominent winemaker. Created from vines in the Gave commune, the creation of this wine is strictly monitored from the growing of the grapes all the way to bottling and aging. It is a deliciously dry wine that shows many favorable characteristics.
This wine leans toward the lighter side of things, but maintains integrity of flavor and is a delight to drink. It is extremely dry; the perfect beverage for refreshing the palate coupled with its deliciously playful, and extremely forward, acidity. To the eye: golden yellow with hints of green in the right light. Very playful. On the nose: Very citrus forward. Notes of lime lemon are most noticeable. Thoughts of green apples are also observed. On the palate: extremely food friendly and dry. Very citrusy with heavy notes of grapefruit and lemon massaging the tongue.
This delicious wine is perfectly paired with shellfish and fish. Consider replacing your Chablis with this wine when pairing with oysters next.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
