Simonsig
Simonsig Wine Estate is synonymous with the history of the South African wine industry, the Stellenbosch wine region and the Malan family name.
These elements are intertwined on this family farm, where the late Frans Malan produced the first bottle of Kaapse Vonkel, South Africa's first Classic Cape Method made in the classic bottle fermented style. He is also honored to have co-founded the thriving Stellenbosch Wine Route, a first in its time. Today, his legacy lives on through his sons, Francois and Johan, and grandchildren Francois-Jacques, Christelle and Michael, the 2nd and 3rd generations of Malan at Simonsig Wine Estate.
Simonsig recognizes the importance of maintaining the source of their products, which is why the Estate subscribes to Wieta, BWI, HACCP, IPW and CVC standards that guarantee responsible and ethical wine production. Concerned about the well-being of their employees, Simonsig offers various mentoring and leadership programs to their staff and their children, as well as an on-site daycare and aftercare center.
