Simonsig Mr Borio's Shiraz

The Simonsig Mr. Borio’s Shiraz is a single-varietal wine made from the Shiraz grape variety from South Africa. The grapes are immediately brought to the press house after being harvested. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks and big timbers.

It takes on a dense, ruby hue. This South African red wine has beautifully fragrant aromas of black cherry, blueberry, lily, and lilac, completed by wood, toasted barrique, and cigar box.

Mr. Borio’s Shiraz from Simonsig is delightfully dry and delicious. It’s robust on the tongue, meaty and rich. Raspberry and black cherry fruit scents burst forth in the glass, with undertones of strawberry sherbet and a delicate white pepper spice. Mr. Borio’s Shiraz flatters the palate with a velvety feel, without sacrificing fruity liveliness. It has a long finish, with undertones of plum and black cherry.

It goes nicely with ham or bacon-stuffed mushrooms, monkey gland burgers, cottage pie, venison pie, chargrilled ribs or chops, and, of course, a meat lover’s pizza. It goes well with veggie couscous and beef meatballs, stuffed peppers, and osso buco.

Storage Instructions

Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
