A wonderfully creamy cheddar with an exceptional tanginess.

The Fine Cheese Co. English Farmhouse Cheddar is a wonderful cheddar cheese. Made in Dorset, England, this famous coastal area is well-known around the world for its delicious dairy products, specifically the Dorset Blue Vinny. The Fine Cheese Co. English Farmhouse Cheddar is no exception and is an excellent representation of the delicious dairy products hailing from this area.

The cheese is hard and firm, as any good aged cheddar should be. It is made with pasteurized cow’s milk and is given a lengthy amount of time to mature and come into its own. The result is a creamy, tangy, and sharp cheddar that is full of flavor and character. The maturation process is represented by the odd crystal found throughout the cheese.

This delicious cheese finds its home on a cheese board alongside softer, more subtle cheeses. It is also perfect when made as part of sandwiches and salads. But this cheese really shines when it’s allowed to be consumed on its own as to really embibe the characteristics of an excellent Dorset cheese.

Storage Instructions

Cheeses (except brined ones in jars) should be stored in the crisper or the butter drawer of a refrigerator, not on the shelves themselves. This is to help regulate their temperature and humidity levels—and prevents the formation of mold. Once opened, they should not be kept in their original packaging. Soft cheeses with delicate rinds need to breathe, so they are best placed in glass containers lined with paper towels to absorb extra moisture. Leave the lid open a tiny bit for air to circulate and don’t forget to write up a label with the date you first opened the package. Kindly pay attention to the best before date label when you receive your cheese. Consume prior to date indicated.
