La Mision Chardonnay Reserva is a Chilean chardonnay hailing from the famous Maipo valley just south of Santiago, the capital city. Known for producing bold-flavored whites, La Mision Chardonnay Reserva does not disappoint in this regard.
This particular chardonnay has a very bold flavor that will get you dreaming of summer nights and light nicoise salads. It will transport you to a walm, balmy afternoon with a light breeze kissing your neck, and the well-balanced acidity refreshing not only your palate, but also your temperament as the cool, golden liquid balances your mood. The sweetness is perfectly balanced with the dryness - not too much of either. To the eye, the wine is very light in color, reminiscent of a mid-morning sun shining on a sandstone wall. To the nose, expect notes of pear and butter. Afterthoughts include oak and apple.
This beautiful wine is best paired with tuna and salmon - or any fish with a rich flavor. It also goes very well with chicken. If you’d like to step out of your comfort zone, pair this wine with a delicious arrollado de huaso (the Chilean version of porchetta) with a playful green mango sauce. For a side, a great suggestion would be a summer couscous salad mixed with chickpeas, green peppers, cilantro, lime juice for flavoring, and salt and pepper to taste. The fruity notes this wine have to offer will perfectly complement this dish.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork.
