The Pichon Comtesse Réserve Pauillac is simply an excellent wine. Hailing from the Pauillac commune in Bordeaux, this area is particularly well-known for its excellent, world-class Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The same can be said for the Pichon Comtesse Réserve Pauillac. It is produced with pure Cabernet Sauvignon that is hand picked to ensure the quality of the wine.
The Pichon Comtesse Réserve Pauillac is medium-bodied with deliciously well-balanced tannins. It is dry, and acidic. The flavor profile is intense, but not overpoweringly so. To the eye: the wine presents a beautiful deep ruby red that is pleasant and enticing. On the nose: deep notes of blackberry, blackcurrants, and other dark fruits. On the palate: much of the same as regards fruits, but enhanced with a deep oakiness, tobacco, cinnamon, and other spices. The wine offers a medium finish that is both intricate and delicious. The finish is enhanced by the well-prepared and presented tannins that not only enhance the sip, but create a loving connection with the wine itself.
Such a wonderful wine should be enjoyed on its own, unfettered by the cloyingness of other flavors and sensations.
