Goikoa Salchichon

Salchichon, also known as salami in English, is a delicious sausage that is consumed frequently by many people in Spain and around the world. This delicious cold cut is made with pork and a little bacon (with seasoning and spices, of course) and is generally eaten in sandwiches or straight out of the packet. It is generally not cooked with, though that’s not to say that one could not cook with it if one so desired.

This sausage is usually served as part of a meat board, alongside other cuts from delicious pigs such as serrano or Iberico. It can also be eaten with a good, strong cheese such as Manchego. The slight sweetness from the cheese acts as a wonderful contrast to the salty intensity of the salchichon. Pair this delicious cold cut with a nice, strong cerveza on a warm afternoon, or enjoy with a strong Termpranillo to help balance out the fattiness of the meat.

Storage Instructions

To properly conserve and extend the ham shelf life, store in a cool, dry place, with the ideal serving temperature between 17-22º C.
