Brunello di Montalcino wines are delicious, unique wines that are created using only Sangiovese grapes found in this region. Unlike Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino wines are aged for far longer - some have been aged for 10 years or more! This allows the flavors to become rather pronounced and rounded. The Brunello di Montalcino from Castello Tricerchi has not been aged for as long, but is still pushing 4 years of aging - 3 years in cask and another year in bottle.
The result is a fantastically fruity, mellow, and well-balanced wine with smooth tannins and a caramel-like texture and flavor to it. To the eye: astonishingly clear, pronounced ruby red greets the eyes. On the nose: a fragrant bouquet of ripe cherry, chocolate and tobacco. It promotes spiciness and floral thoughts. On the palate: silky, smooth, and fine. It has nice, refined tannins and a refreshing acidity that is slightly offset by a cheeky sweetness.
This delicious wine is perfect with red meats, aged cheeses, and game.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
