El Gaitero has been operating since 1888 and has been creating and innovating sidras ever since. The Pomarina Natural is a delicious cider made using traditional cider making techniques paired with modern practices to create the most ‘natural’ and authentic product.
This wonderful cider is refreshing and calming. There are over 60 varieties of apples used by El Gaitero for their ciders, but for Pomarina only five of these are used: Durona de Tresali, De la Riega, Verdialona, Raxao, and Regona. They are a mixture of red, green, and mottled apples that are quite small and have thick, dense skins. The result is a delicious cider that shines through pale yellow. It offers a thick bouquet of apples and apple blossom. It has a sweetness to it, offset by the tartness of the apples themselves, and a bit of bitterness thanks to the notes of apple core towards the end of the sip.
Sidras are refreshing and are best enjoyed on a hot afternoon. The Pomarina Natural pairs well with light meals such as tapas, fish courses, and delicious salads. Try pairing this wonderful sidra with your next nicoise salad.
