This beautiful, brooding chocolate combination from Xocolata Jolonch is once again a testament to their prowess and expertise as chocolate makers. Using old world techniques in creating new, innovative chocolate experiences, they have certainly done that with their dark chocolate with rum.
This dark chocolate is 60% cacao which means there is a slight bitterness inherent to the chocolate. This is, of course, offset by the sweetness and richness of the truffle filling. But adding on to these already fantastic layers is an intensity brought about by the rum. While the other flavors of the chocolate are quite intense, the clean, dark flavor of the rum has no problem holding its own and is quite noticeable on the palate.
This beautiful chocolate works well with coffee, or coffee liqueurs / spirits. Our personal recommendation is to eat this beautiful chocolate while sipping on a snifter of Patron XO Cafe - a beautiful coffee infused tequila.
Store in a cool dry place. Refrigerate upon opening.
