The Lodge Chardonnay grape variety is grown in the sub-regions of Hawke’s Bay. The conditions here are quite different and cooler (than in other regions), producing a very unique fruit, which allows the wine to develop into a complex, vibrant and flavorfully layered experience.
Toasted almonds and hazelnuts, stone fruits and citrus fruits make this Chardonnay perfect for enjoying a laid back summer’s afternoon, lounging with loved ones on a porch overlooking a view. The Sileni Lodge Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay is the perfect accompaniment to a light meal of salmon, seafood chowder or an olive oil-based or cream-based pasta dish.
A splash of the Sileni Lodge Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay in your cooking, can give creamy and rich sauces that much needed acidity to balance out the entire dish while also bringing out its delectable and rich flavors. Some dishes you can use this wine with is Cioppino, adding a zesty tanginess to bring out the briny and seafood flavor. Another is French Onion Soup, to cut through the sweetness or for a more classic dish, you can use it in a Chicken Piccata.
