Though only formally established in the 1960’s (thanks to the joining of the Rolly and Gassmann families), Rolly Gassmann has been producing fantastic, professional wines since the 17th century. With their expert know-how and understanding of wines and grapes, they are able to infuse some wonderful methods into their production, creating delicious, unique wines.
This particular Gewurztraminer is no exception. It is surprising and complex. It offers a sweetness that can actually be a bit shocking upon first sip, but is actually pleasant and welcomed. It is off-dry and offers low acidity. To the eye: beautiful golden yellows grace the eye. On the nose: tropical fruits are noticed with lychee rising above all else. The bouquet offers a beautiful minerality. On the palate: the wine is medium-bodied, but rich and complex. Lychee is the predominant flavor but with nice minerals to complement the sweetness of the wine. It is soft, elegant, and refined. The finish is long, complex, and interesting.
This wonderful Gewurztraminer pairs perfectly with soft, robust cheeses, and complements spicy curries wonderfully!
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
