Though only formally established in the 1960’s (thanks to the joining of the Rolly and Gassmann families), Rolly Gassmann has been producing fantastic, professional wines since the 17th century. With their expert know-how and understanding of wines and grapes, they are able to infuse some wonderful methods into their production, creating delicious, unique wines.
This particular cuvee is no different. It is labeled as a ‘vendanges tardives’ which translates to late harvest. The riesling grapes have been allowed to fully mature (and then some!), offering a delicious sweetness accompanied by mature characteristics. The Rolly Gassmann Riesling de Rorshwihr Cuvée Yves Vendanges Tradives is bold, sweet, and expertly balanced thanks to a refreshing acidity that helps cut through the sweetness.
This particular wine is best paired with full, bold cheeses as well as delicious, full-bodied charcuterie. It is also well-enjoyed on its own.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
