Marcel Martin has done it again with superb Sauvignon Blanc. Hailing from the famous Pouilly-Fumé area in the Upper Loire, it has been designated AOC thanks to the wonderful Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in this area.
This wine is a prime example of some of the best from Pouilly-Fumé. It is light, quite dry, and acidic. It presents many fruity tones and is quite refreshing. Indeed, if there were ever a wine well-suited for summer, this would be it. To the eye: the wine presents light straw yellows with green tints. On the nose: a very floral, fruity wine, presenting notes of lemon and minerals. On the palate: notes of lime and lemon are present, with hints of apple and peach to finish. It is a fresh, crisp, light wine that is a beautiful refreshment on a hot, balmy afternoon.
For pairing, this wine partners best with lighter dishes. Perhaps a nice herb chicken, or a fresh tomato quiche with garden salad. This wine is also delicious on its own, while enjoying the playful summer breeze that cools your neck while looking out over the countryside.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
