Pouilly-Fumé is a wonderful wine growing region in France. It is most notably famous for the extremely dry, yet pleasantly fruity Sauvignon Blanc wines produced there. It is located in the Loire Valley - the food enthusiasts paradise.
Raimbault-Pineau’s Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon Blanc is a very good representation of the wines produced in the area. It is extremely dry with quite a bit of acidity and strong, delicious fruity notes. The wine is incredibly refreshing. To the eye: a pleasant golden yellow meets the eye. On the nose: delicious mineral and citrus notes are observed. On the palate: Notes of apple but leaning towards the citrus end of things. The wine is incredibly fresh and has a rather short finish.
This deliciously refreshing wine is best served with fresh fish and shellfish. Pair with oysters; the delicious citrus notes of the wine will complement these wonderful morsels perfectly.
