This beautiful wine brought to you from Mendolás, one of the Oremus vineyards, creates a fresh, modern play on the noble Tokaj. Using Furmint, one of the noblest varieties of the region, this delectable white is painstakingly pressed, fermented, and aged, with checkers ensuring and maintaining quality and balance every step of the way.
The Oremus Mandolás Furmint is a little sharper in flavor and color, compared to the sweeter elixirs the region tends to produce. This is indeed a bold new direction and one that is turning out to be quite popular. To the eye: a pale, golden lemon color will greet you with shades of green shining through, depending on the light. To the nose: soft fruits, such as peach and apricot are present, blended with some spices, such as vanilla. On the palate: white fruits, such as pear mix with peach and apricot as well as almond to provide a wonderfully complex experience. This is a medium bodied wine with a sharp finish. Notes of bitterness can be observed, but are not overwhelming.
Enjoy this beautiful wine on your balcony at twilight on a summer’s eve. The coyness of the wine is sure to invigorate the senses and spirit. If pairing, it works well as an aperitif or paired with spicy asian dishes. Garlic shrimp sauteed with green and red chillies served on a pilaf of saffron rice will complement this wine perfectly.
