The Edouard Delaunay Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts is an excellent premier cru from Edouard Delaunay. It is made in the hallowed village of Puligny-Montrachet - a village thought to produce some of the best Chardonnay in the world.
The Edouard Delaunay Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts is, simply put, a spectacular wine. While not a grand cru, it still delivers a complexity and enjoyability not often found in other wines. The wine is bold, dry, and delivers a mature, well-balanced acidity. To the eye: the wine offers a pale golden yellow that is a pleasure to look at. On the nose: strong citrus notes intermingle with a delicious oakiness. The acidity and minerality of the wine are observed. On the palate: stunning notes of lemon, hints of pear, and strong undertones of oak, vanilla, and tobacco. The wine offers a pleasant medium-long finish that lingers on the tongue long after.
This refreshing wine should be enjoyed on its own. It can also be paired with light salads and seafood.
