Join the World Malbec Day celebration and embark on a delicious journey to discover the perfect Malbec for you!

Since 2011, World Malbec Day has been celebrated every April 17 and throughout the month, as a tribute to the birth of modern viticulture in Argentina. It’s a chance for Argentina and wine lovers everywhere to celebrate how Malbec became the country’s most iconic grape. Thanks to the passion and dedication of Argentine winemakers, the country now produces some of the finest Malbecs in the world.

Though Malbec originated in France—once used in 19th-century Bordeaux blends before it truly found its soul in Argentina. The grape was brought over in 1852 by Michel Pouget, a French agronomist invited to help grow the country’s young wine industry. April 17 marks the day in 1853 when President Domingo Faustino Sarmiento committed to developing Argentine winemaking laying the foundation for Malbec’s rise to global fame.

To celebrate World Malbec Day, we’ve curated a captivating trio that brings out the very best of Argentine winemaking!

  • Flechas de los Andes Aguaribay Malbec is all about pure, fruit-driven character and the freshness of Mendoza’s high-altitude vineyards. Grown at the foothills of the Andes and named after the native Aguaribay tree, it’s a vibrant, approachable Malbec with juicy red berries, soft tannins, and a silky finish—an elegant expression of Argentina’s flagship grape.

  • Phebus MMC offers a uniquely Argentine twist on the classic Bordeaux blend, marrying Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. What makes it special is the way it brings together Malbec’s boldness, Merlot’s softness, and Cabernet’s structure in perfect harmony. Expect rich layers of dark fruit, a touch of spice, and a smooth, balanced finish that works beautifully from casual dinners to special occasions.

  • Flechas de los Andes Gran Malbec is Malbec at its most refined. Grown in the Andes foothills and aged in French oak, it delivers concentrated dark fruit, polished tannins, and complex notes of cocoa, vanilla, and spice. Powerful yet elegant, it’s a cellar-worthy wine that truly reflects the depth and sophistication of Argentina’s top reds.
