El Almendro was founded in Jijona (now known as Alicante), Spain in 1883 by Antonio Monerris Planelles. The first factory was opened in Jijona and he created his first batch of turron by 1885. The first two years were spent gaining experience and creating recipes. Over the next 100 years, the company expanded into what it is today, focusing on the purity of almonds and allowing this delicious nut to steal the show in all their creations.
This crunchy almond turron stick is a throwback to the traditional recipes used in the 1800’s. The almonds are grown organically in their own almond plantations and used directly in their confectionary creations. While this recipe is traditional, the form of consuming the turron in stick form is not.
These delicious, nutty, sweet, crunchy sticks are perfect on a picnic or enjoyed with a hot cup of black coffee. No sugar or milk will be needed with these delicious morsels. Or simply enjoy them on their own and savor the freshness of the almonds.
Store in a cool dry place. Keep in fridge after opening.
