What is Cava? SImply put, Cava is a sparkling wine made in Spain using traditional champagne-making techniques. Like champagne, cava has very delicate bubbles finishing in a creamy foam. But that is where the similarities end, especially for Josep Masachs Carolina Brut Nature.
Brut Nature basically means that the sparkling wine or champagne have no added sugar aside from the natural sugars provided by the grape. To be considered a brut nature sparkling, sugar levels must be between 0-3 grams of sugar. The Carolina Brut Nature contains 0.5 grams per liter.
This delicious cava is acidic, rich, and well-balanced. It promotes a delicious creaminess that is balanced by the acidity of the sparkling wine. Large fruit notes are observed and it is pleasantly less bitter than other sparkling wines and champagnes.
This sparkling wine works very well on its own as an aperitif or paired with light appetizers and fish courses.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
