Les Jamelles’ Les Petite Jamelles Rosé employs a wonderful blend of Grenache and Sauvignon Blanc. The way Rosé is made is to add just enough pigments from the red grape to color the resulting juice just enough that it looks pink. All juice from grapes is naturally white. It is the pigment from the skins of red grapes that imparts color into the wine.
The Les Petite Jamelles Rosé is quite an intense Rosé. It has a bold flavor, is quite acidic, and leaning towards the dry end of the spectrum. However, it promotes a delicious fruitiness that is also quite pleasing on the palate. To the eye: A wonderful pale pink color promotes the refreshing nature of this wine. On the nose: Powerful notes of strawberry, sour cherry, and citrus fruits are most prevalent. On the palate: powerful notes of peach and recurrent are noticeable with thoughts of grapefruit towards the end.
This delicious Rosé works well on its own as an aperitif. It is also wonderful when paired with seafood and cream sauces, like those found on pastas and certain pizzas. It is a bold wine so it can hold its own against bold flavors.
