For our wine of the month, we present Abbotts & Delaunays Domaine de la Métairie d’Alon Solaire Pinot Noir. This beautifully fruity creation is something that all wine drinkers should experience. Hailing from the heart of the Haute Vallée de l’Aude in France, this beautiful wine has been painstakingly created for your drinking pleasure.
This wine is very fruity. A little young, but in its immaturity comes promiscuity. A playful elixir for the palate, a sight to behold, and an aroma that will send you to a patio overlooking wheat fields in southern France at twilight. To the eye: a beautiful purple will greet you. As you move it around in the light, a miasma of reds will shine through. On the nose, thoughts of truffles and forest woodiness are observed, but then overtaken by notes of red fruits, such as raspberries and strawberries. On the palate: notes of vanilla, blackcurrant, and cherries are noticed. On the back end, nice afterthoughts of black pepper and oak can be observed. This beautiful red is medium bodied, light, and fruity. Tannins are present, but not overbearing, leading the way for a smooth wine experience. There is some acidity that is coyly played around with a slight sweetness.
This wine is paired perfectly with Blanquette de Veau. The subtleness of the veal and the stew is the perfect combination for such a delicate wine. It can also be enjoyed on its lonesome on a balmy twilight evening while taking in the sights of the city from your balcony.
