An award-winning Pinot Noir from the the Sileni winery, based in the sub-region of the Bridge Pa triangle in the sunny Hawke’s Bay.

The Sileni The Plateau Pinot Noir offers complex aromas of varietal dark cherry fruit and flowers. The palate is full of delicious black cherry, spice, and smooth tannins.

The grapes used in this wine are grown on elevated river terraces in the Mangatahi sub-region, which is colder and inland. Crops were reduced to 2.2kg per vine on average to ensure ripe and concentrated fruit flavors.

After being partially crushed into a combination of open top and closed top tanks, the open fermenters were manually plunged, while the closed fermenters were rummaged and pumped-over for extraction. The malolactic fermentation spontaneously finished in French barriques in the spring. It is aged for at least nine months before being blended and bottled.

Multiple vintages of The Sileni The Plateau Pinot Noir has won several awards, including:

Silver & Bronze - New Zealand Wine of the Year

Silver & Bronze - International Wine Challenge

Gold - Los Angeles International Wine Competition

Bronze - International Wine Challenge

Silver - International Wine & Spirit Competition

Blue-Gold & Top 100 · Sydney International Wine Competition

Bronze - Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition

The Sileni The Plateau Pinot Noir is excellent with mushroom risotto, lamb, or truffle and parmesan pasta.
