Schloss Gobelsburg is the most prominent and oldest wine estate in the Austrian Danube river region of Kamptal. They have been creating exquisite wines since the 12th century, and are going strong till this very day. Their ‘Tradition’ wines, while part of an estate that believes in combining traditional techniques with modern winemaking practices, pay homage to the traditional techniques that have built winemaking into what it is today.
The Schloss Gobelsburg Pinot Noir Reserve is a delicious Pinot Noir. It is light, subtle, and offers a delicious balance between dryness and sweetness. It is extremely interesting to drink. On the eye: beautifully light ruby reds are observed. On the nose: notes of red berries, and citrus and herbal notes are present. On the palate: smooth and elegant this wine promotes notes of red currants, ripe raspberry, cinnamon, and white pepper. It provides a medium-finish that is packed full of character and charm.
This beautiful Pinot Noir pairs perfectly with light pork and chicken dishes, but is most enjoyed on its lonesome as a refreshing beverage on a hot summer’s day.
