Protos Gran Reserva is a superb wine that is simple to drink and has a fruit note in both the nose and the tongue, as well as highly nuanced aromatique subtleties. It possesses a dark cherry color with a garnet rim. It contains round tannins with a long finish. Protos Gran Reserva has a good aging potential.
It is made of 100% Tinta del País grapes that come from very old vines, planted over 60 years ago. They are manually harvested with a controlled fermentation process in stainless steel vats. Maceration takes about 3-4 weeks. It is finally aged for 24 months in french (80%) and american (20%) barrels, mostly new.
Ideal serve is at 17-18ºC. Works great with Porter House beef, Rib Eye, Lamb Chops, Wellington Beef
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
