Protos Crianza is a red wine produced by Bodegas Protos in Ribera del Duero. This winery, founded in 1927, is proud to be the first in Ribera del Duero, thus the name Protos, which means “first” in Greek. In terms of geography, the winery lies in the town of Peafiel (Valladolid), on the same mountain as the Peafiel Castle.
Bodegas Protos Ribera Del Duero Crianza packs ripe, earthy flavors of raisin and baking spices on the nose. Rubbery tannins dominate the tongue, but aromas of chocolate, char, and wood grain linger on the finish of this crianza from a warm, dry vintage.
As this bold red wine is more on the drier side that packs a little bit more tannin, it is best paired with meats such as steaks, lamb and even game (venison and deer)
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
