Protos'27

Ribera del Duero is renowned as one of the wine producing regions in Spain that consistently deliver high-quality wines - specifically Tempranillo. Protos ‘27 is neither typical of the region, nor of the winery itself. This wine is special. It is bold, fantastic, and well-rounded with intense tannins and a well-balanced acidity. It is the perfect tribute to the 11 founders that chose the acidic soil of Ribera de Duero as the home for some of Protos’ most famous wines, including the aforementioned.

The Protos ‘27 is full bodied, bold, and delivers a long finish with enjoyable, intense tannins. To the eye: dark, deep cherry red splashed with violet hues are noticeable. On the nose: Note of dark fruits and berries playfully interspersed with thoughts of tobacco and oak. On the palate: an excellently balanced wine with intense notes of dark fruit cut by the acidity to provide balance and contrast, and finished with tobacco, oak, and leather afterthoughts alongside the excellent tannins of the wine. This wine is deep, dark, brooding, and intense. Allow it to breathe somewhat before consuming. It is also an excellent wine for aging further.

Storage Instructions

Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
