Monte Faustino Valpolicella Classico is owned and made by the Fornaser family - a winemaking family that has been producing quality wines since the beginning of the 1900’s. Combining traditional winemaking techniques with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, wines produced here are of the utmost quality. Located at the foothills of Monte Faustino, 3 grape varieties are used in the production of this marvelous Valpolicella - Corvina, Molinara, and Rondinella.
The result is a fruity, medium-bodied red wine is quite smooth and offers nice, juicy tannins. It is a drier wine with a playful sweetness that refreshes the palate and offers some ‘sweet’ relief. It veers to the acidic side of the spectrum, but is still quite a soft wine to enjoy. To the eye: one will be met with a medium to dark ruby red, depending on the light. On the nose: morello cherries and dark fruits entice the senses. On the palate: thoughts of red fruit, sweet, intermingle with spices, such as cloves and cinnamon.
This wine is best served with dishes that have red sauces. A good matriciana or puttanesca would work well with this wine.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
