The Monte Faustino L’amarone del Maestro Fornaser is an epic wine. For those lovers of Italian wines, this wonderful creation should be a staple of those cellars. The wine is produced with a blend of Corvina, Corvinone Veronese, Rondinella, Croatina, and Oseleta. The result is a beautifully balanced wine with deep, brooding characteristics.
The wine is bold. It is very forward and confrontational. However, the wine leans towards the smoother side of things, with tannins being a little softer. It also offers a rich sweetness that is slightly offset by a nice dry, acidity. To the eye: the wine produces a beautiful ruby red that moves towards garnet in the right light. On the nose: Ripe, red fruit steal the show. Notes of almonds and other spices are perceptible. On the palate: aside from the delicious red fruits - plum, cherry, and berries - notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and nuts can be observed. It has a medium finish that is full of body and character.
This delicious wine pairs perfectly with fish, and good, sharp cheeses that are not overly spicy.
