An exciting red produced by MESSIAS located in Mealhada, Portugal. They produce wines in the demarcated areas of Bairrada, Douro, Dão, Vinho Verde, Beiras, and Vinho do Porto. It was founded in 1962 and is known not only for its ports, but also wines, sparkling wines, and aged brandies.
This red wine is made in the Douro region that is known to produce fresh, lively bottles. Messias Selection Douro Tinto is no exception. It produces bold flavors that are balanced with the slight sweetness this wine playfully introduces. It presents as slightly tannin and is well-balanced between softness and acidity. The color can be described as a dark red. The nose will give hints of black cherry, oak, and cloves. The palate is extremely fruity with heavy emphasis on black and fruits. Expect an oaky aftertaste.
This wine will be paired well with beef, lamb, game, and rich pastas. The perfect accompaniment to your Sunday roast lamb with roasted vegetables. The strong flavors of the meat will partner well with the soft, fruity tones the wine has to offer.
