Marqués de Cáceres is a winery well-known for their quality. Founded in 1970, it has been the passion of the partners, and the generations of winemakers that succeeded them, to produce the very best wines from the very heart of La Rioja Alta.
The Marqués de Cáceres Gran Reserva is a beautiful wine. It is predominantly Tempranillo, blended with a little Garnacha Tinta and Graciano. The result is an intense forward punch followed by a gentle, refreshing finish. It promotes bold flavors, balanced tannins, and dryness and acidity that is quite refreshing and surprising for a rather intense wine. To the eye: deep ruby reds with hues of violet. On the nose: prominent notes of balsamic and fine wood. On the palate: full bodied notes of plum, sweet spices, and toasted notes. It has excellent aging potential and will further surprise you after a few years in bottle.
This delicious wine, while paired excellently with rich dishes, such as salmorejo, but a wine this fine should also be sampled on its own. It truly deserves the respect of standing apart.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
