The Le Droissy Vouvray from Marcel Martin is just as surprising as it is delicious. It is an off-dry Chenin Blanc, meaning it is slightly sweeter than its drier counterpart and offers a rather distinct fruitiness. The wine itself is an excellent offering from Marcel Martin and should be tried by all fans of Chenin Blanc.
Marcel Martin Le Droissy Vouvray is a bold wine with a bold personality. It is slightly off-dry with a perceptible sweetness, but not overly so. It has a nice smooth acidity that is refreshing and cleansing. To the eye: beautiful, intense yellows are presented with slight hints of green and gold. On the nose: a fruit-heavy bouquet of peach is noticed coupled with a beautiful floral scent that is intertwined with a fresh minerality. On the palate: distinct notes of green apple, peach, and quince are observed balanced with a sweet, vibrant acidity. It is smooth, oily, and has a pleasantly long-finish.
This particular Chenin Blanc pairs perfectly with spicy seafood and chicken dishes. It will complement soft, subtle cheeses very well, and can be comfortably paired with sashimi.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
