L'expression de Margaux

While typical Cabernet Sauvignon - especially a Bordeaux Cabernet Sauvignon - tend to be bold, powerful, and robust, wines hailing from Margaux are rather interesting in their uniqueness. While most definitely excellent Bordeaux Cab Savs, wines from Margeaux lean towards the more subtle end of the Cabernet Sauvignon spectrum. Margeaux wines are tender, refined, and elegant.

The L’Expression de Margaux from Château Rauzan-Ségla encapsulates the uniqueness of a Margeaux Cabernet Sauvignon expertly. The palate leans towards the bolder side of things, but not overpoweringly so. Rather, it delivers a masterclass in refinement and reservedness. The tannins are balanced and mature, bringing a nice counter-note to the acidity of the wine. To the eye: gorgeous, clear ruby red is presented. On the nose: intense floral notes interspersed with cumin, nutmeg, and other wonderful spices. On the palate: red fruits shine through - plum, cherry, and raspberry. A nice minerality is observed coupled alongside delicious spices. The finish is long and refined.

This beautiful wine pairs perfectly with game, poultry, and red meats. It is also most enjoyable when paired with sharp, pungent cheeses.

Storage Instructions

Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
