Because of the region in which these grapes are grown and cultivated, these Spanish wines are known to be powerful, rich and intense. The proximity to the volcanic soil and long hot summers in Garnacha make the Spanish Priorat truly unique and expressive.
The Les Terrasses G Alvaro Palacios comes from a prestigious wine family from the Rioja region. Truly one of Spain’s most powerful and influential winemaking families, Alvaro studied winemaking in Bordeaux to further his knowledge of the craft. One of nine kids, he spent two years working at Chateau Petrus in Pomerol. He left and ventured into purchasing his own vineyard in Priorat, Finca Dofi in 1990.
The Les Terrasses G Alvaro Palacios is an impressive, yet accessible Priorat. With its fruity and balanced notes, it pairs well with a variety of dishes. It pairs excellently with roasted meats, like poultry and veal and can even stand up to heavier, heartier and rich beef and pork dishes.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
