This Les Jamelles wine is made exclusively with Pinot Noir grapes coming from four terroirs: Hérault’s mid-slopes, the Pyrenees’ foothills, the upper Aude valley, and the Aude plain.
The pre-fermentation cold maceration lasts about a week, followed by a week of temperature-controlled fermentation and eight to 10 days of vatting. The cuvée is matured for six to nine months in lightly toasted oak.
Les Jamelles Pinot Noir has a lovely ruby red color with a nose of red and black fruits, floral notes, and a subtly woody and vanilla hint. It has a lot of complexity on the palate, with notes of crushed red fruits and jam plums, and is rich and lengthy. It has well-coated and melting tannins. It won the Gold Medal at the Sakura Japan Women’s Wine Awards 2022.
This wine is best served chilled, with charcuterie, light cheese, and white meat (poultry with cream). It goes very well with beef bourguignon, osso-buco, or even a peach tart.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
