The Les Hauts du Tertre Margaux is a wonderfully expressive wine that is created and produced by the world-renowned Chateau du Tertre. The Les Hauts du Tertre Margaux is a combination of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The result is a fruity, tannic, sumptuous wine that offers much in the way of characteristics.
The wine is bold, but not overwhelmingly so. It offers well-rounded, strong tannins, and is quite dry. The acidity of the wine is not overpowering but combined with the strong dryness, offers a refreshing sip. To the eye: the wine is a deep ruby red that offers beautiful purple highlights. On the nose: black fruits, such as black plum, cherry, and berries are noticeable. On the palate: delicious spices, such as toast and tobacco are observed along with a delicious counterbalance of succulent plum and cherry. The finish is quite long with delicious tannins.
This wine is a pleasure to drink on its own, but works wonderfully with hearty mains including beef and pork. It pairs rather wonderfully with robust cheeses and fruits.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
