The Château Giscours Haut-Médoc Giscours Grand Reserva is a wonderful wine. It is produced with predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, but also features a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Haut-Medoc makes up a large part of the Bordeaux wine region and is known for its Cabernet Sauvignon, thanks to its peninsular location and mild climate.
The result is a bold, forward wine that presents mature tannins and a refreshing acidity and dryness. The wine is balanced, smooth, and well-presented. To the eye: the wine presents a beautiful, playful ruby red that is literally easy on the eyes. On the nose: beautiful, glistening red fruits, such as cherry, berries, and plums are presented alongside a complementing spiciness. On the palate: ripe, red fruits are once again presented. Cherry and plums are noticed with a slight thought of blackberries. Spices are noticeable and complement the fruitiness of the wine perfectly. It has a complex medium finish that is neither too long, nor too short.
This beautiful wine is best paired with steaks and grilled meats. It will do well if allowed to aerate considerably before consuming.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
