Pintia Toro, a member of the Vega Sicilia family, is a lovely Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) that is very well balanced. Having spent so much time in bottle, drinkers will be rewarded with a wine that is so easy to drink, the bottle will be gone if you’re not careful.

Pintia Toro is a mature wine that reminds one of the sage, older sibling that offers nothing but good advice. When sipping at this beauty, you will notice very balanced tannins, well-balanced acidity and a slight acidity to offset the dryness. The wine is bold in flavor but has a certain softness to its character. To the eye: beauty is in the eye of the beholder and this wine certainly offers a beautiful, deep plum red. In certain lights, shades of violet will shine through offering a wonderful viewing experience. On the nose: red and cool blue fruits will massage the senses. Notes of herbs and oak are also present. On the palate: thoughts of dark fruits, such as plum and dark cherry, vanilla, and chocolate are present. Afterthoughts of oak will enhance the tannic experience. Medium bodied with a medium finish.

This wine pairs perfectly with beef, lamb, and game. A great choice for this wine is caldereta de chivo. This Yunqueran dish combines lamb, lemon juice and zest, white wine, cinnamon, cloves, peppercorns, olive oil, and bay leaves. While lighter than a heavy tomato based caldereta, the intense flavors combined with the lamb will be perfectly balanced by the well-balanced Pintia Toro.

Storage Instructions

Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
