Château Latour has been making exquisite wines since 1855 in Pauillac, France. It is one of the most prestigious winemakers in the region and offers three world-class wines. It is also the first winemaker in the region to create a third wine - Pauillac de Latour. This wonderful wine uses vines that were not considered suitable for the second wine - Le Forts de Latour. This is not an admonishment to Pauillac de Latour at all. In fact, the expertise of the winemakers have taken the grapes from these vines and created a truly special third wine. It has been produced annually since 1990.
The wine is bold, rich, and intense. It offers beautifully matured tannins as well as a nice rich dryness and a refreshing acidity. It is silky, smooth, and soft on the tongue. To the eye: deep bold reds greet the eye. On the nose: notes of red and dark fruits, such as cherry and plums are noticed with hints of tobacco. On the palate: delicious plums, ripe cherries, tobacco, and oak massage the palate. The tannins are well-rounded and intense. The finish is medium to medium-long. This wine needs time to breathe before consuming and would do well from decanting.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
