Château Fayat Pomerol

Pomerol is a unique, highly sought-after region in Bordeaux. It is located within Libournais (RIght Bank) - an area most famously known for its beautiful Merlots. Château Fayat is no exception as they predominantly grow Merlot with a small mix of Cabernet Franc thrown in for good measure.

The wine they produce, specifically the Château Fayat Pomerol is an excellent representation of the region. It is forward, bold, and intense with plenty of character. The tannins are strong, but well-rounded, and the wine promotes a rich dryness and acidity counterbalanced by a slight sweetness. To the eye: the wine promotes a deep garnet red that is absolutely beautiful to view. On the nose: black fruits, such as plum, cherry, and berries are most noticeable with delicious notes of vanilla and oak shining through with various spices. On the palate: it is smooth, silky, and rich. Black fruits once again are the star of the show with notes of cloves, cinnamon, and other spices noticeable. It is forward and promotes a rather beautifully long finish.

The Château Fayat Pomerol is best paired with strong, pungent cheeses and deep, rich dishes such as stews and braised pork or beef. It is also a pleasure to sip on its own, savoring the complexity and deliciousness of the wine itself.

Storage Instructions

Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
