This delicious Chianti from Geographico exudes sophistication and intensity. The Chianti Classico Riserva Montegiachi is extremely dry, yet this was done on purpose. The grapes are crushed leaving only 1 gram of residual sugar. The result is an extremely refreshing wine with full, fruity notes.
As with all good Chianti, this wine is neither too bold nor too light. It is extremely dry and offers strong, rounded tannins. The acidity is quite refreshing. To the eye: a beautiful deep ruby red is most noticeable with splashes of lighter reds and purples splashed throughout. On the nose: heavy emphasis on black fruits, such as plums and blackberries. There are also strong notes of oak. On the palate: nice, rounded tannins are noticed. Flavors of cherry, berries, and plums are observed. This wine does well being allowed to aerate for a long period before enjoying.
This delicious wine is perfect for a hot summer’s afternoon. Simply sipping on this while enjoying a sharp goats cheese with some fresh, crusty bread is all one really needs.
