The Chateau Tayac Cuvée Nicolas Margaux has developed a rather interesting wine. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot was used in the creation of this lovely wine. Strong fruit notes and slightly lower tannins, this wine is very easy to drink and creates a pleasant sipping experience.
The wine has a slight sweetness to it that is not cloying at all. It offsets the acidity and creates a rather nice harmony on the palate. To the eye: deep cherry reds with splashes of purple in the right light. On the nose: notes of red fruits, spices, and ripe dark fruits are noticed. On the palate: ripe dark fruits as well as hints of licorice and vanilla. Red fruits are most noticeable as an aftertaste and the finish is middle-long.
This delicious wine is paired very well with hearty dishes, such as coq au vin. It also pairs well with semi-hard cheeses and charcuterie boards. It is also just as delicious to enjoy this in the evening after a stressful day. The flavors of the wine carry all problems away.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
