The Château Mezain Bordeaux is no exception. Medium-bodied with balanced boldness, acidity, and mellow tannins, this delicious wine delivers fruitiness and intensity. To the eye: Deep garnets with hints of fuschia playfully meet the eye in the right light. On the nose: Persistent notes of cherry, blackcurrant, and aniseed are observed from the bouquet. On the palate: notes of cherry and pear are noticed towards the front with a slight kick towards the end. Medium finish.
This bordeaux is excellent on its own and is a good representation of a decent modern bordeaux. It works just as well with beef and pork, as well as cheese boards and charcuterie plates. All in all, this is a fruity, interesting, and surprising wine.
