The Château Haut Terrasson Bordeaux Rouge is a very nice, light, and easy to drink wine. Produced in the Bordeaux region of France, the vineyard is planted on slopes overlooking the Garonne River valley. This particular wine is a combination of 65% merlot, and 35% cabernet sauvignon. The result is a bold, medium bodied wine experience.
This is quite a bold wine with great tannins. It is very dry without much in the way of sweetness. It is definitely an acidic wine, but has a gentle softness to it that stops it from being overwhelmingly bitter. To the eye: a gentle ruby red is the foremost color with purple hues shining through in the right light. Definitely easy to look at. On the nose: notes of dark fruits and berries. Leather and earthy notes are easy to enjoy here. On the palate: this wine offers a medium-bodied experience with a long-lasting aftertaste. Forward notes consist of plum, dark cherries, dark fruits, leather, and hints of vanilla and chocolate.
The Château Haut Terrasson Bordeaux Rouge is a wonderful wine that is easily paired with bold-flavored proteins and dishes. This wine goes wonderfully with duck, especially duck confit. If you have the opportunity to pair these together, you will not be disappointed.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
