The Château Croizet-Bages Grand Cru Classé Pauillac is a wonderful wine. Hailing from Pauillac, it represents the area perfectly when it comes to bold, beautiful Cabernet Sauvignons. The wine is aged in French oak barrels from 12 to 14 months imparting maturity, experience, and wonderful oaky flavors.
It is a medium-bodied wine that offers a plethora of characteristics. It is quite dry and acidic, with a slight, playful sweetness to complement the dryness and acidity. To the eye: Beautifully exquisite deep reds are presented with a playful purple hue shining through in the right light. On the nose: deep, dark cherry, plum, and berry notes are complemented by tobacco and licorice. On the palate: the wine is smooth, sultry, and succulent. It is well-rounded, has a nice long finish, and presents mature, strong tannins that complement the sip.
This wonderful wine is best served with game and strong beef dishes. It also complements sharp, pungent cheese boards perfectly and is wonderful when served alongside charcuterie.
