Known for their incredible Prosecco, Anna Spinato is a winery synonymous with quality. The same can be very much said for their Merlot. A deliciously smooth, sour, and palate-friendly wine that is easy to pair with many dishes.
The wine itself is not so bold but offers a nice, dry, acidic mouthfeel that is silky and smooth. To the eye: a pleasant bright ruby red greets the eye. On the nose: intense notes of red fruit offset by a slight spiciness. Hints of cinnamon, tobacco, and oak are observed. On the palate: berry-heavy, notes of blackberry, plum, and slight notes of raspberry can be observed. It is smooth, decadent, and offers a long finish.
This particular Merlot pairs perfectly with grilled meats, ragu sauces, and a hearty, fresh, aromatic Bolognese. It is also great with cheese plates and charcuterie boards. The dryness of the wine perfectly offsets the boldness of sharp cheeses and meats.
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
