The 5 Finques (Fincas) Reserva is a delicious wine. It is made using a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha Negra, Merlot, and Samso. These grapes lend the wine gentle tannins, a slight sweetness to counterbalance the inherent dryness of the wine, and a well-balanced acidity. It is a full bodied, robust wine that is just as delicious as it is surprising.
To the eye: deep cherry reds massage the eyes with slight purple notes shining through in certain lights. On the nose: thoughts of red fruit and spices, with notes of balsamic are noticeable. On the palate: rich, ripe red fruits, such as plum and raspberry are noticeable. It is full-bodied, rich, and presents a pleasant softness that counteracts the intensity of the tannins. All in all, this wine is simply delicious.
This wine pairs well with full, rich meals, such as grilled meats and heart pastas and stews. It also pairs well with bold, rich cheeses, such as the intensely delicious blue cheese, gorgonzola, and sharp, well-matured jamon and manchego. But ultimately, this wine is a pleasure to consume on its own. It is so easy and pleasant to do so, that the bottle will be gone before you know it. The only regret you’ll have is that you didn’t buy more!
Store your unopened bottle in a cool, dry, and dark place safe from constant vibration. Keep your bottle horizontal in a wine rack or cellar to retain the moistness of the cork. The ideal temperature for storage is between 7 to 15°C. Once opened, a bottle will be good for 3 to 5 days standing upright in the refrigerator.
