What makes a Paella pan so special?
The pan is not very deep, but it is spherical, broad, and it has gently sloping edges that provide useful for cooking paella. Because of the shape, the rice will be cooked uniformly and in a single layer. Paelleras can be purchased in stores that specialize in cookware or through online catalogs. Paella specialists like using thin pans made of carbon steel since these pans heat up quickly and don’t hold too much heat.
Paella, in the Valencian dialect, simply means frying pan in English. The paella we know and love today is mistakenly seen as Spain’s national dish (see: tortilla de patatas), but is actually a creation from Valencia in Spain. Even though it is not the national dish of Spain, it is enjoyed with much gusto by the Spanish people, and millions of people around the world.
So what better way to celebrate this beautiful dish than by making your own paella at home. The paella pan with enamel finish not only ensures that you maintain an even temperature over all surfaces of the pan, but when it comes time to clean the pan, all you need is a soft sponge and some soapy water to assist in removing any caked on bits. Cleaning, you will see, is just as easy as eating the delicious paella you prepared.
