The Urbani Tartufi Dried Porcini Mushrooms are earthy, nutty and meaty when added to dishes and can be used for soups, pastas and other recipes.

Dried using tried and true Italian methods, the Urbani Tartufi Dried Porcini Mushrooms are perfect for a lot of dishes, especially French and Italian cuisine. Nutty, earthy and meaty, these mushrooms can add a lot of dimension and complexity in your cooking.

The Urbani Tartufi Dried Porcini Mushrooms must be rinsed first and cleaned from any dirt and residue. To bring out its earthy aroma, you must soak them in warm water and milk.

These are perfect for creating a rich and creamy Porcini Mushroom Risotto with Goat Cheese. Taking about an ounce of the rinsed and cleaned Urbani Tartufi Dried Porcini Mushrooms, soak in milk and warm water for about 20 minutes. Remove the soaking liquid and chop the mushrooms, keep this liquid, strain and simmer in a medium saucepan. Over moderately low heat, in a medium pan, put in oil and saute garlic and onion. Add the mushrooms, arborio rice and salt and stir until the rice becomes opaque. Add ½ cup of the simmered broth and keep stirring until the broth is fully absorbed and keep adding the broth ½ cup at a time and keep stirring! Cook the rice until it is tender. Stir in butter and goat cheese and season to taste with salt, pepper and Parmesan Cheese.
